Customs duties and import VAT when importing from China
With a direct import from China, additional import charges may arise or may already be collected at checkout through the relevant import procedures. In Germany, Pokémon cards are generally subject to the standard import VAT rate of 19 percent. Since July 2026, certain e-commerce small consignments worth up to €150 may also incur flat-rate customs duties. Put simply, for goods worth, for example, €100, the purchase price may be supplemented by import VAT, possible customs duties, and, where applicable, handling fees charged by the shipping service provider. When purchasing Chinese Pokémon products from a German warehouse, however, you do not need to handle customs declarations or import processing yourself.
How much Chinese Pokémon booster boxes cost
The prices of Chinese Pokémon Booster boxes depend heavily on the set, product format, and current availability. Gem Pack Booster Displays often range roughly from €30 to €50, with a Gem Pack Vol. 5, for example, costing around €40. With 18 Boosters per Booster Display, this results in a Price of approximately €2 to €3 per Booster, depending on the Offer. Larger Jumbo Booster Displays from series such as Stellar Crystal or Chasing Glory can cost roughly between €50 and €70 depending on the set, but they contain significantly more cards per Booster. A direct Price comparison should therefore always take the respective pack size into account. Overall, many Chinese products are attractively priced and can be an interesting alternative to other Asian Pokémon editions.
