Pokémon Aura Seeker is the next major Japanese expansion in the current MEGA series of the Pokémon Trading Card Game. At the center is a Pokémon that perfectly matches the set's name: Mega Lucario Z-ex.
The original Japanese name is ハドウシーカー, often translated as Hadou Seeker or Aura Seeker. “Hadou” refers to the aura closely associated with Lucario. Accordingly, Mega Lucario Z-ex is not only the focus of the products, but also has an ability called Aura Seeker.
The set releases in Japan on November 27, 2026. In addition to Mega Lucario Z-ex, other Z-Mega Evolutions such as Mega Garchomp Z-ex and Mega Absol Z-ex have already been officially revealed. This brings several of the new Mega forms from Pokémon Legends: Z-A to the Pokémon TCG.
In this article, you'll get a concise overview of Pokémon Aura Seeker, its Release, the most important cards known so far, and what makes the new Japanese Pokémon set interesting for Players and Collectors.
What is Pokémon Aura Seeker?
Aura Seeker is a Japanese expansion in the Pokémon TCG MEGA series. The set focuses on new Z-Mega Evolutions and introduces several of these forms as cards in the Trading card game for the first time.
Mega Lucario Z-ex is especially important. Lucario is already one of the series' most popular Pokémon, and its Aura abilities have played a central role in games, anime, and movies for years. The set name ties directly into this theme.
However, other powerful Pokémon are also in the spotlight alongside Lucario. Mega Garchomp Z-ex and Mega Absol Z-ex have already been officially confirmed as two more new Mega Evolutions for Aura Seeker.

Mega Lucario Z-ex is the set’s most important card
The clear centerpiece of Pokémon Aura Seeker is Mega Lucario Z-ex. The card directly connects the set’s theme with Lucario’s best-known trait: its ability to sense and control aura.
Mega Lucario Z-ex has the Aura Seeker Ability. If this Pokémon is in the Active Spot, you can search your Deck for a Supporter card and put it into your hand.
This makes the card interesting to play, since you can search for the right Supporter for each situation. Mega Lucario Z-ex also has the attack Dancing Fist, which can deal especially high damage to Pokémon-ex.
For Collectors, Mega Lucario Z-ex is also likely to be a highlight. Exactly what special illustrations and Secret Rare versions will be included is not yet fully known. So it’s too early to say what the set’s biggest Chase Card will be.
Connie supports Mega-Evolved Pokémon
Connie, who is best known for her close bond with Lucario and Mega Evolutions, also gets a new Supporter card in Aura Seeker.
The card boosts the attacks of your Mega-Evolved Pokémon-ex based on how many Prize cards your opponent has already taken. For each Prize card taken, damage increases by 20.
This can make the card especially interesting in the later stages of a game. The closer your opponent gets to winning, the harder your Mega-Evolved Pokémon can strike back.
Connie appearing alongside Mega Lucario Z-ex in Aura Seeker also fits the set thematically.
Mega Garchomp Z-ex relies on Dragons in the discard pile
Another major Pokémon in the set is Mega Garchomp Z ex. Its strategy is very different from Lucario's and focuses more on Dragon Pokémon.
The Dragon Avenger attack deals damage based on how many Dragon Pokémon are in your discard pile. The more Dragon Pokémon there are, the more damage it deals.
This creates a strategy where discarding your own Dragon Pokémon isn't necessarily a disadvantage. Instead, it can be the very thing that makes Mega Garchomp Z ex powerful.
Aura Seeker already includes other cards that support this strategy, including Flygon and Vibrava, as well as Drampa. These cards can help build up Dragons or get them into the discard pile.
Mega Absol Z ex can slow down the opponent
With Mega Absol Z ex, Aura Seeker showcases another Z Mega Evolution with a completely different play style.
Its Bloody Fear attack deals 160 damage and also restricts the opponent's next turn. The opponent then cannot play Special Energy or Stadium cards from their hand.
This means Mega Absol Z ex combines direct damage with control. Decks that rely heavily on Special Energy or important Stadiums can have their setup disrupted.
This is interesting for Players because Aura Seeker already shows three very different strategies with its three major Mega Pokémon: Lucario searches for support, Garchomp works with Dragons in the discard pile, and Absol controls the opponent's resources.
Sigilyph ex as a counter to Mega Evolutions
Not every exciting card in Aura Seeker is itself a Mega-Entwicklung. Sigilyph ex is a good example.
Its Mega Protector Ability prevents damage from attacks by your opponent's Mega Evolution Pokémon ex. In an era where these Pokémon are becoming increasingly important, this can be an interesting defensive option.
At the same time, Sigilyph ex can use its attack to pass Energy to a Pokémon on the Bench. This means the card is not just defensive; it can also help build up your own field.
Meloetta helps build up your Bench
Meloetta is also among the cards that have already been officially revealed. Its attack lets you put up to three Basic Pokémon directly from the Deck onto your Bench.
This can be very helpful, especially at the start of a game. Instead of having to draw and play several Pokémon one at a time, you can build up your Bench much faster.
Whether Meloetta will later play an important role in certain decks naturally depends on the complete card list and the meta at the time. But the card already shows that Aura Seeker isn't made up exclusively of big Mega Pokémon.
Z Mega Evolutions are coming to the Pokémon TCG
Aura Seeker is also important because it brings the new Z Mega Evolutions more prominently into the Pokémon Trading card game.
These forms come from Pokémon Legends: Z-A and expand the familiar Mega Evolution concept with new variants of known Pokémon. Mega Lucario Z, Mega Garchomp Z, and Mega Absol Z are among the first Pokémon to represent this new direction in the TCG.
For Collectors, this creates a new area within the current Mega-Entwicklung series. Instead of simply seeing familiar Mega Forms on cards again, there are actually new designs and Pokémon forms.
Lucario and Garchomp are particularly popular Pokémon, so their new forms will likely attract a lot of attention.
How big is the Pokémon Aura Seeker set?
Aura Seeker's regular main numbering comprises 78 cards. Additional cards are numbered beyond the regular set numbering.
The total number of Secret Rares has not yet been fully officially revealed. Therefore, be cautious with lists that already state a final number of Art Rares, Special Art Rares, or other rare cards.
The first reveals already show various Pokémon, evolution lines, and Trainer cards. More cards are expected to be officially revealed before the Release on November 27.
Pokémon Aura Seeker Booster and Booster Display
A Japanese Pokémon Aura Seeker Booster contains 5 cards. The official retail price in Japan is 200 yen per pack.
A Pokémon Aura Seeker Booster Box, or Japanese Booster Display, contains 30 Booster packs. This means the product follows the classic Japanese main set format of the current Pokémon TCG era.
As always, keep in mind: Even a complete Booster Display doesn't guarantee a specific Secret Rare or a particular Mega Pokémon variant. Which cards you pull is random.
If you're generally looking for Japanese Pokémon cards, Booster packs, and Displays, you'll find a wide selection of Pokémon TCG products at cardcosmos.
Will Aura Seeker also be released in German and English?
At the moment, Aura Seeker has been officially announced as a Japanese Pokémon set. The Pokémon Company International has not yet announced a German or English expansion under this name.
With Pokémon, it's common for cards from Japanese expansions to later become part of larger international sets. However, exactly how the cards from Aura Seeker will be released in German and English should only be considered confirmed once the international expansion has been officially announced.
That's why we're deliberately not naming a confirmed German or English set name or an international Release date at this time.
Why Aura Seeker is exciting for Collectors
For Collectors, Pokémon Aura Seeker brings together several interesting features. First and foremost, of course, is Mega-Lucario Z-ex. Lucario has been one of the most popular Pokémon for many years, and with its new Z Mega Evolution, it gets a completely new card design.
Mega-Garchomp Z-ex and Mega-Absol Z-ex are also included. This means the set isn't centered around just one highlight, but introduces several new Mega Evolutions to the Pokémon TCG at once.
Which cards will ultimately become the biggest collector highlights, however, depends heavily on the Secret Rares and artwork that have yet to be revealed. With a new set in particular, it's best not to talk about confirmed chase cards before the complete card list is available.
What makes Aura Seeker interesting for Players?
In terms of gameplay, the cards revealed so far already show different approaches. Mega-Lucario Z-ex can search specifically for Supporter cards, Mega-Garchomp Z-ex benefits from Dragon Pokémon in the discard pile, and Mega-Absol Z-ex can block your opponent's Special Energy and Stadium cards.
Connie further boosts the damage of Mega Evolution Pokémon, while Sigilyph-ex offers direct protection against opposing Mega Evolutions.
As a result, Aura Seeker currently feels less like a set built around just one strategy and more like an expansion that supports a variety of existing and new deck ideas.
It’s only possible to judge how relevant the cards will really be in competitive Pokémon TCG once the full card list is known and Players have been able to test their first decks.
Why you should be cautious about early Aura Seeker information
Aura Seeker was fully revealed as a product only a few days ago. Accordingly, many rumors are already circulating about Secret Rares, pull rates, and possible international cards.
What’s officially confirmed so far is mainly the Japanese Release on November 27, 2026, the five-card booster size, and key cards such as Mega Lucario Z-ex, Mega Garchomp Z-ex, and Mega Absol Z-ex.
However, the complete Secret Rare list and international release have not been fully revealed. Claims about the biggest chase cards or guaranteed pull rates should therefore be treated with caution for now.
Conclusion: Aura Seeker brings the new Z-Mega Evolutions to the Pokémon TCG
Pokémon Aura Seeker is especially interesting for fans of Mega Evolutions. With Mega Lucario Z-ex, Mega Garchomp Z-ex, and Mega Absol Z-ex, the set brings several new Z-Mega forms from Pokémon Legends: Z-A into the Trading card game for the first time in a prominent way.
The clear highlight is Mega Lucario Z-ex with its Aura Seeker ability, but the cards revealed so far featuring dragons, Mega support, and defensive strategies also make the expansion interesting to play.
The Japanese Release takes place on November 27, 2026. A Booster contains five cards, and a Booster Display contains 30 Booster packs. The upcoming card reveals will show which special Secret Rares and artwork become the biggest collector highlights.
If a German or English release is possible, it’s still worth waiting for the official announcement. Until then, Aura Seeker remains one of the most exciting Japanese Pokémon sets at the end of 2026.
